About the Role

Summer Student – Packer

JOB SUMMARY

Jennmar is seeking a motivated and reliable Summer Student – Packer to support manufacturing and shipping operations during the summer season. The successful candidate will assist with packaging finished products, preparing shipments, maintaining inventory organization, and ensuring products meet quality standards before leaving the facility. This position provides valuable hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while promoting safe work practices, teamwork, and continuous learning.


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently enrolled in High School, College, or University and returning to studies following the summer term.
  • Previousexperience in manufacturing, warehousing, shipping, or general labor is an asset but notrequired.
  • Willingness to learn and follow established procedures and safety requirements.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Ability tolift upto 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment tomaintaininga safe and clean work environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previousexperience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and basic production equipment.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Packaging & Shipping Support

  • Package finished products according to company specifications and quality standards.
  • Assembleproducts,and other packaging materials asrequired.
  • Label, tag, andidentifyproducts accurately for inventory and shipping purposes.
  • Stack, wrap, and prepare pallets for shipment or storage.
  • Assistwith loading and unloading materials whenrequired.

Quality & Inspection

  • Perform visual inspections of products prior to packaging.
  • Ensure packaging materials and finished products meet quality

Housekeeping & Organization

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Assistwith general housekeeping throughout the production and warehouse areas.
  • Organize packaging materials, tools, and supplies.
  • Support inventory organization and material storage activities.

Equipment & Safety

  • Operate packaging equipment and tools safely following training and procedures.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, safety concerns, or maintenance requirements to supervisors.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions.

Team Support

  • Assistproduction, shipping, and warehouse teams asrequired.
  • Support special projects and general labor activities during peak periods.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive movements.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
