We provide advice in relation to all types of competition matters, including mergers and acquisitions, abuse of dominance, cartels, market investigations, intellectual property, and state aid. We have played a key role in many cases that have shaped European competition policy in recent years: from aerospace to software, and manufacturing to transportation. More recently, we have been at the forefront of economic thinking in antitrust investigations and regulation in the tech sector.</p> <p><strong>Position Overview</strong></p> <p>Interns work closely with senior staff on projects across a variety of industries and will gain a good understanding of what it is like to work as an economist at CRA. An intern would typically:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct analyses and collect evidence from data and research that support our expert opinions and business recommendations</li> <li>Perform regression analyses in statistical analysis programs (such as Stata, Python, R), including large data projects requiring the use of cloud computing</li> <li>Build economic models tailored to the issues at hand and supporting our expert opinions and business recommendations</li> <li>Assist in the development and presentation of client deliverables, including expert reports and white papers</li> <li>Communicate complicated economic concepts and arguments to internal teams in an understandable, accessible manner</li> <li>Ensure the integrity and accuracy of analyses and opinions.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desired Qualifications</strong>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Master's or PhD candidates studying economics with a strong foundation in microeconomics, preferably with a specialisation in&nbsp;industrial economics and/or econometrics</li> <li>Fluency in English, other language skills are considered an asset</li> <li>High degree of numeracy, ability to analyse data, familiarity with econometric techniques</li> <li>Exceptional written and oral communication skills</li> <li>Strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities</li> <li>Excellent time management and task prioritisation skills</li> </ul> <p><strong>To Apply</strong></p> <p>To be considered for this position, please submit the following:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Curriculum Vitae</strong>– please include current contact information</li> <li><strong>Cover letter</strong>– please describe your interest in CRA’s European Competition practice and state when you would be available</li> <li><strong>Academic results</strong>– from all relevant degrees</li> <li><strong>Writing sample (optional)</strong>– a sole-authored project (class paper, thesis, research paper, or similar)</li> </ul> <p>Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
