Internship Assignment: Full Time – Summer 2026

  • Perform metallurgical investigations or failure analyses to determine root cause of defects and steel quality issues

  • Produce quality investigative reports and material related documentation

  • Prepare metallographic samples (sample sectioning, mounting, polishing)

  • Utilize optical and scanning electron microscopy to evaluate metallurgical features

  • Analyze material for steel cleanness and characterization

 

Internship Qualifications:

  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5

  • Must have completed 30 or more credit hours by the end of the spring 2026 semester

  • Must be a full-time student attending an accredited two-year or four-year college/university

  • Preferred majors: Materials Science, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering

  • Microsoft Office experience

  • Written and oral communication skills
