About The Company
Do not underestimate the power of atoms: nuclear applications can make a great difference for society both now and in the future. This is why as one of the biggest research centres in Belgium we continue to perform groundbreaking research. SCK CEN is a global leader in the field of nuclear research, services and education. With more than 900 employees, throughout all of our work, we are focusing on 6 research topics: • Health • Environment • Society • Materials • Technology • Safety These are our building blocks for developing innovative applications for society. In this way, we want to contribute to a world in which these and future generations can live safely and in good health.
About the Role

Introduction

The SCK CEN Academy aims to guarantee, now and in the future, competent employees in the Belgian (and international) broad nuclear sector, ranging from industry over healthcare to research and government institutions. An important first step in this competence building process is to inform and enthuse young people about STEM in general and nuclear science in particular. One of our pillars is therefore to organize and support outreach activities that illustrate the basic science of ionizing radiation and its technological applications to students, their teachers and the public. Contributing to this pillar, the goal of this project is to develop an easily accessible and low-threshold nuclear themed serious game. The interactive and didactic game should be suitable for classroom and leisure time use.

Objectives

The student will
