About the Role

Job Overview

The Hubbell Internship Program is a 10 to 12-week program providing students the opportunity to gain corporate experience, learn about all aspects of our business, and prepare students with the kind of experience needed to have a rewarding career at Hubbell.  This internship will be part of the Talent, Inclusion, and Communication group as part of the Learning and Leadership Development team.                
 

A Day In The Life

Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by: 

  • Applying skills and knowledge learned in the classroom to on-the-job experiences as you support updating and creating assets that are Hubbell's talent architecture (role profiles, competency model collateral, training courses, elearning assets, etc.)  
  • Working on comprehensive, value-added projects in the Learning & Leadership Development space.  This will include creating and updating courses, project plans, communications, talent development, materials, etc. 
  • Working in teams and with colleagues in a professional environment. 
  • Developing technical skills specific to your major that support the talent ecosystem as part of the larger Human Resources function. 
  • Providing opportunities for professional development by building relationships and learning about other parts of the business as you work on needs assessments, roll-out plans, and communications for projects. 
  • Providing a presentation to the local management team at the end of the program on the accomplishments from the key talent ecosystem project for the internsthip. 
  • Gaining knowledge of the industry as it pertains to the Hubbell business location.  
  • Gaining experience in planning and organizational skills. 
  • Working on challenging robust projects that will provide practical experience in the learning development and human resources space.. 
  • Assisting with process improvement by identifying opportunities you observe during the internship and developing recommendation proposals. 
  • Managing multiple projects with overlapping tasks and working independently with minimal supervision. 
  • Providing support and assistance to co-workers as appropriate. 

 

What will help you thrive in this role?

 

  • Enrollment in an accredited university working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree related to the internship (e.g., Human Resources Management, HR Development, Organizational/Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, etc.) (required) 
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (required) 
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products preferred; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite desirable. 
  • Familiarity with relevant software and systems.
