The Global Factory IT Group at Seagate is a highly technical team responsible for the design, development, and deployment of systems across Seagate. Our global presence spans teams in the US, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and India, fostering close collaboration within our regions and beyond.

About the role - you will:

  1. Manage task/project that is assigned.
  2. Participate in QA activities and documentation.
  3. Work with senior developers on given project tasks.
  4. Present during periodic progress meetings where status and progress can be showcased.
  5. Participate in architecture and development activities and provide fresh views of today's technology.

About you:

  1. Build and extend Seagate’s MES services and APIs that include:
    1. Work with Kafka messaging platform to create application producer/consumer solutions.
    2. Work on Java based services and applications, application migrations, and adding JMX (Java Managment Extension) to existing Java based applications.
    3. Assist with various projects that convert from JSON to proprietary interfaces.
    4. Participate and contribute to the design of services and APIs.
  2. Assist with migrating applications to AWS.
  3. Assist with building and managing regression environments and testing.

Your experience includes:

  1. Minimally have intermediate knowledge with these development environments: VS Code, IntelliJ, NetBeans.
  2. Minimally have intermediate knowledge in these programming languages: Java, JavaScript, Python.
  3. At least novice knowledge with Windows and Linux operating systems.
  4. At least novice knowledge with shell scripting: Windows CMD, Linux bash/sh.
  5. At least novice knowledge with basics of microservices/APIs.
  6. Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  7. Fundamental knowledge of Kafka, Oracle, Postgres, AWS, basic ML/analytics.

Location:

Our Woodlands site is one of the largest electronics manufacturing sites in Singapore, housing our recording media operations. Spread over three sites, it is easily accessible via bus or from the MRT Station, with many employees taking mass transportation to work.
