Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your skills by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.</p><p></p><p>The work model for the role is onsite/hybrid in Richmond, Virginia.</p><p></p><h1><b>You will be mainly accountable for:</b></h1><ul><li><p>Obtain feedback from critical stakeholders involved in the new product or the process improvement</p></li><li><p> Work with cross-functional teams to execute projects on time and on budget</p></li><li><p>Develop and maintain web-based applications for processes in order to improve their efficiency and eliminate waste</p></li><li><p> Find and pitch improvement ideas, and then execute ideas if approved into a full project</p></li><li><p>Document any best practices discovered and/or standards implemented</p></li><li><p>Local and international competition where university students develop a continuous improvement team project based on quality wins and lean manufacturing methodology and principles during the summer.</p></li></ul><h1><b>Qualifications for the Role:</b></h1><ul><li><p>Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, and Manufacturing engineering in the United States.</p></li><li><p><span>Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite. </span></p></li><li><p><span>Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future. </span></p></li><li><p><span>Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Exhibit the capability to manage several tasks at once while maintaining high standards of quality.</span></p></li><li><p><span>Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress.</span></p></li></ul><h1><b>Preferred Qualifications:</b></h1></div><ul><li><p>Application of Lean Methodology tools (5’s, DMAIC, Kanban, VSM, Line balancing).</p></li><li><p>Experience in a manufacturing environment (projects or internships).</p></li><li><p>Lean training or certifications preferred but not required.</p></li><li><p>Skill in the use of Microsoft Office tools.</p></li><li><p>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</p></li><li><p>Experience participating in a team environment.</p></li><li><p>Ability to implement digital or automated solutions (Industry 4.0)</p></li></ul><h1></h1><h1><b>Why ABB?</b>  </h1><p></p><p>What's in it for you</p><p></p><p>We want you to bring your full self to work—your ideas, your energy, your ambition.
