About the Role

The Fraunhofer Institute for Electronic Nano Systems ENAS is leading in the development of smart systems that combine electronic components, micro and nano sensors and actuators with communication interfaces. The institute develops individual components as well as system concepts and technologies for their production and integration into practical applications. 


The Business Unit “Smart Systems” focuses on the development of innovative sensors and actuators that extend the state of the art through intelligent system integration and are customized to the specific requirements of users.


As part of an exciting research project, we are currently looking for a student who will analyze companies in the semiconductor industry using Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) as part of a scientific thesis (Bachelor's or Master's thesis). The student will gain valuable insights into their market strategies, market position, innovation potential, future prospects, and technologies.

  • You will carry out a market analysis of companies in the semiconductor industry.
  • You will apply Generative AI technologies to automatically analyze data and identify market trends.
  • You will collect and evaluate relevant scientific and company-specific data.
  • You create reports and presentations to present the research results.
  • You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams within the Business Unit “Smart Systems”. 

 

What you contribute

  • You are an enrolled student in Chemnitz, Mittweida, Freiberg, Dresden or the surrounding area.
  • You are studying economics, industrial engineering, computer science, physics or a comparable course of study.
  • You have knowledge of artificial intelligence and its application in the analysis of company data.
  • You have experience with Generative AI technologies (e. g. GPT models, machine learning).
  • You are interested in the semiconductor industry and related technologies.
  • You have very good analytical skills and a structured approach to data analysis.
  • You communicate confidently in German and English, both written and spoken.
  • You work independently, are reliable and motivated.
