About the role:

As a Fuel Engineering Intern, you will work on high-fidelity neutronics modeling and uncertainty quantification.

 

You will report to the Fuels Technical manager and be located at our Etna facility. This is a paid full-time hybrid position for the summer.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply the fission matrix approach
  • Train on reactor physics, microreactor technologies, and methods development
  • Exposure to the work of other research units within the larger division
  • Daily activity will consist of computer modeling and method development

 

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering with a focus in materials science or a related discipline
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Completed Sophomore year of college
  • Experience with material properties and behavior, including mechanical, thermal, and chemical characteristics

 

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $22.69 to $27.50 per hour.
