Job Title: Summer Intern - Manufacturing

 

Job Summary:
The Milliken Summer Intern position gives rising university juniors or seniors an opportunity to work on a significant process improvement project in a manufacturing environment.  This position is located at the Hillcrest Plant in Simpsonville, SC.  You will report directly to a manager – either a Senior Process Engineer or a Process Improvement Manager.  The position is hourly paid.  The work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.  The summer intern program begins in mid-May and ends the first week of August.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a manufacturing related project for results
  • Determine solutions using continuous improvement techniques
  • Demonstrate creative thinking by identifying unique approaches to problem solving
  • Communicate effectively one-to-one and one-to-a-group
  • Work effectively with a diverse group of people to implement project improvements
     

 

Qualifications – Required:

  • Rising junior or senior at a university
  • Working towards a BS degree
  • Able to participate in the Intern Leadership Forum in Spartanburg, SC
  • Able to participate in the final presentation review in August in Spartanburg, SC



Qualifications- Preferred:

  • Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial engineering major or related field
  • Efficient in PowerPoint and excel spreadsheets
  • GPA – 3.0 minimum
  • Able to start work in May 2026
