Firm Overview

Stockbridge is a real estate investment management firm led by seasoned senior professionals averaging 25 years of real estate industry experience. The firm was founded in 2003 and manages real estate equity investments across the risk spectrum within a variety of investment structures on behalf of U.S. and foreign institutional investors, family offices and high net worth individuals. Stockbridge has approximately $36.5 billion of assets under management spanning all major real estate property types, and certain specialty property types with an emphasis on residential and industrial space throughout the U.S. The firm has offices in San Francisco, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, and Phoenix.

 

What is a Summer Analyst?

The Stockbridge Summer Analyst Internship experience is designed to be rotational in nature and will be project based with exposure to real estate professionals across the firm and to various commercial and residential property types. Summer Analysts will take on many of the responsibilities that full-time employees assume throughout various divisions of the firm including acquisitions, asset management, portfolio management and/or operations, if applicable. Project scopes are determined by the current needs of the firm and coupled with the interest and experience of the Summer Analyst. The internship program will provide exposure to the day-to-day operations of the firm and will culminate in a final deliverable(s) and presentation, which are expected to be valuable contributions to Stockbridge. The Summer Analyst will have opportunities to engage directly with Stockbridge leadership as part of one-on-one mentorship/career guidance meetings.  Additionally, the Summer Analyst will be paired with an investment mentor who will be available to them throughout their internship.

This is both a qualitative and quantitative position, strong math and written skills are necessary. Summer Analysts will receive a substantial amount of responsibility in a very entrepreneurial environment. Summer Analysts will be assigned to the San Francisco, Chicago or Atlanta office. Summer Internships will be 10 weeks long (early June through early August), with these dates subject to change. The recruitment period for summer 2026 internships is October through December.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with Portfolio Management, Asset Management, and/or Acquisitions teams to learn the day-to-day responsibilities of different functions of the business
  • Assist Analysts and Associates with financial modeling/underwriting/financial analysis as needed
  • Conduct market research as applicable
  • Attend meetings and phone calls when appropriate
  • Complete a final project, culminating in a final presentation to the office

Qualifications

  • Rising Senior (will being senior year in Fall 2026) enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a top-tier accredited university with a strong academic background and a proven history of achievement.
  • Demonstrated interest in real estate, finance or business.
  • Computer proficiency with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Argus experience is not required but is a plus.
  • Strong writing skills as well as verbal interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to function both in a team-oriented setting and independently.
  • Intellectual curiosity with a demonstrated proficiency in critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Self-motivated and able to spearhead projects in an entrepreneurial environment.

Compensation

Competitive. The base pay scale for this position is $30/hour in San Francisco and $25/hour in Chicago and Atlanta. Travel reimbursement may be provided. The base pay scale is accurate as of the date of this posting. Stockbridge reserves the right to modify this information at any time, subject to applicable law.
