Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst / Data Science Intern to join the Data & Digital team at Suntory Beverage & Food. In this role, you will work closely with Data Product Managers and the Head of Data & Analytics to co-create data-driven solutions that generate measurable business value particularly in Revenue Growth Management (RGM), People & Culture (P&C) and Supply Chain analytics.

This is not just a technical internship. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong business acumen and a problem-solving mindset, contributing to the design, ideation, and implementation of analytics products that directly support commercial and operational decision-making.

This is a 3-6months internship position. 

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Partnership & Problem Definition

  • Collaborate daily with Data Product Managers, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to understand and frame business problems.
  • Translate commercial challenges in RGM (e.g., promo effectiveness, pricing elasticity) and Supply Chain (e.g., demand forecasting, inventory optimization) into analytics use-cases.
  • Support the development of product roadmaps and contribute to a value-centric analytics backlog.

2. Data Analysis & Solution Development

  • Perform exploratory data analysis to derive insights and generate hypotheses.
  • Build and test forecasting models (time series, regression, etc.) and other ML algorithms to solve business problems.
  • Assist in designing dashboards and visualizations that translate complex outputs into intuitive decision tools.

3. Product Thinking & Innovation

  • Contribute to ideation of new data products and enhancements to existing analytics tools.
  • Assist the Head of Data & Analytics in scanning for emerging trends, new data sources, and innovative methodologies.
  • Participate in brainstorming and cross-functional workshops to drive analytics adoption and business experimentation.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Final year undergraduate or early-stage master’s student in Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or related field.
    • Prior experience in a functioning business, sector-agnostic will be highly preferred and valued.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in Python, SQL, and time series forecasting libraries (e.g., Prophet, ARIMA, scikit-learn).
    • Experience with Power BI or Tableau for dashboard development.
    • Familiarity with ML lifecycle and exploratory data analysis (EDA).
    • Cloud experience (AWS/GCP) is a plus.
  • Business & Communication Skills:
    • Strong analytical thinking with a practical understanding of business levers.
    • Clear communicator who can explain technical results to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Passionate about using data to drive decisions in real business settings.
