About the Role

Legal and Regulatory Compliance Internship – East Lansing, MI

This is a paid Internship with an hourly rate of $19.50/hr

 

Duration: May 2026 – August 2026
Location: Based in our East Lansing, MI office, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the local community while being an integral part of our organization.

 

GreenStone Farm Credit Services is seeking a highly motivated intern to support its Legal and Regulatory Compliance team, in addition to providing support to the Legal Compliance Consortium Forms and CTC Forms teams. This internship offers hands-on experience in legal research, drafting, regulatory compliance, and form development across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities of a Legal Compliance Intern:

  • Research and propose updates to legal forms to ensure alignment with state and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Legal team to review and revise mortgage-related forms.
  • Collaborate and communicate with Farm Credit institutions covering the remaining 30 states not currently represented in our mortgage form library.
  • Investigate state-specific requirements and compile job aids detailing:
    • Requirements in completing each form
    • Applicable transaction types
    • Legal prohibitions or restrictions
  • Document findings and present recommendations to the Legal and Compliance teams.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing compliance initiatives.

 

Requirements:

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Pre-Law, Political Science, Public Policy or a related field.
  • Agriculture background or interest preferred.
  • Sophomore status or above in your academic program.
  • A minimum GPA of 3.00 is required.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong writing proficiency.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn.
