About the role:

As a Process Safety intern, you will be part of a dynamic team and contribute to the development of technical products and systems.

You will report to the Chemical Process Engineering Senior Manager and be located at our Burr Ridge location, also known as Fauske & Associates. This is a paid full-time onsite summer position.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support engineering staff by performing assigned test requests, simulations, and supporting tasks
  • Maintain a safe a professional laboratory environment; comply with company safety policies and directives
  • Assist or lead calorimetric design, experimentation, and data collection
  • Assist or lead thermal hydraulic testing design, experimentation, and data collection
  • Assist or lead numerical simulations supporting several process or facilities challenges
  • Communicate with team leads and senior management and document activities in peer reviewed reports
  • Successful completion of a capstone presentation, highlighting accomplishments during internship
  • Move pressure vessel components weighing up to 40 lb.

 

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in chemical, nuclear, mechanical engineering or related field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Complete Sophomore year of college
  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $22.69 to $27.50 per hour.
