About the role:

As a Metallurgical Engineering intern, you will partner with experienced engineers and technicians in an environment focused on materials science, process improvement, and quality assurance.

 

You will report to the Engineering Senior Manager and be located at our Ogden facility. This is a paid full-time onsite position for the summer.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the analysis and testing of metals and alloys using multiple metallurgical techniques (e.g., microscopy, hardness testing, tensile testing)
  • Support failure analysis investigations and contribute to root cause identification
  • Participate in process optimization projects related to heat treatment, welding, extrusion and other aspects of metalworking
  • Collect and interpret data to support product development and manufacturing improvements
  • Document findings and prepare technical reports and presentations
  • Collaborate with teams including Quality, R&D, and Production

 

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering, materials science, or a related field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Completed Sophomore year of college
  • Completed coursework in physical metallurgy, mechanical behavior of materials, and materials characterization
  • No relocation assistance provided

 

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $22.69 to $27.50 per hour.
