Internship Digital Network Traffic Analyzer - MR

Job Description

Your role:

The Philips MRI system has a central scan control computer with a real-time operating system. The scan control computer controls four subsystems via individual optical link which are: Transmit chain link, Receive Chain link, Gradient Chain link and Reconstructor Link. In case errors occur, the Digital Network Traffic Analyzer is helping to diagnose the problem.

  • Work on a complex product in a complex organization.

  • Acquire an in-depth understanding of the real-time control aspects of MR hardware and of the network communication protocols.

  • Translate ‘vague’ ideas in smart requirements.

  • Build prototypes to validate requirements.

  • Build a FPGA application on existing hardware with embedded processor and Python.

  • Learn how to use new tools like Vivado, Matlab, Ruby, Python, Questasim.

  • Project planning agreed with stakeholders

  • Implementation prototype solution on FPGA platform with Embedded software User Interface

  • Project Documentation

You're the right fit if:

  • We’re looking for a curious and motivated final year Master or Bachelor student in Computer sciences or Electrical Engineering

  • You are eager to learn, good listening skills, self-motivated and open-minded

  • You have experience with VHDL, FPGA programming and script programming (e.g. Python)

  • English language skills

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.

  • Monthly full-time allowance between €500 - €700 gross, depending on educational level. If you will perform a part-time internship you will receive the allowance pro-rata.

  • Housing compensation, in case of relocating to the vicinity of the office, €300,- net if location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, €255,- net for all other Philips locations. You need to provide a rental contract of the land lord, and your normal home-work travel distance need to be more than 50 km or travel time (one way trip) need to be more than 1.5 hours.

  • Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card; you will receive max. €192,- net

  • Paid holidays per internship term.

  • The opportunity to buy Philips equipment at our Philips shop

  • If your performance is outstanding, there might be an opportunity to stay at Philips after your internship and graduation
