We have 16 diverse areas available for interns, as listed below. We seek candidates who are eager for a professional-level experience, with the ability to work independently and collaborate with various teams.

This paid internship program offers college students an excellent opportunity to gain valuable work experience directly related to their field of study.

We have the following opportunities:

  • Archives Collection Intern - You will conduct research and format metadata for archival digital collections, arrange and create inventories of physical and digital archival collections, and conduct archival research.

  • Field Connections Intern - You will be responsible for aiding associates and managers on the Field Partnerships and Pathways team in capacities that engage, serve, and recruit Southern Baptists to participate in the Great Commission. This may include outbound communication initiatives such as emails and phone calls, research, data collection, spreadsheet updating, management, and other similar tasks.

  • Global Research Analyst Intern – You will assist in a wide variety of research-related projects ranging from creating data visualizations, statistical analysis on field metrics related to the missionary task, anthropological research, qualitative and mixed-method research, geospatial analysis, and script writing. You will gain exposure to global research and be involved in research projects that help advance the Kingdom of God through the missionary task.

  • Global Security Operations Monitor Intern – You will detect, analyze, and alert others regarding any adverse conditions that could impact personnel or operations. These may range from extreme weather conditions to political instability, crime, terror, or technical failures. The GSOC monitor also collects, analyzes, and summarizes incident and activity data reported by personnel to the GSOC during their shift.

  • Multimedia Intern – You will work across the disciplines of photography, videography, and graphic design to learn from and meaningfully contribute to the Creative Services team. Other duties will include photo and video tagging, file management, and completing skills training as assigned.

  • IT Project Management Intern – You will assist the Product Management and Strategy team on managing and monitoring IT projects. You will also participate in the planning, implementation, and delivery of IT solutions, and will collaborate closely with business product teams on product improvements.

  • Information Security Analyst Intern – You will play a key role in safeguarding enterprise systems and data in alignment with the organization’s global mission objectives. This role will assist with the implementation and monitoring of security controls to protect information assets across diverse, decentralized, and cross-cultural environments. You will also support incident response activities by identifying, documenting, and analyzing potential security threats and vulnerabilities. In addition, you will collaborate with technical and ministry teams to embed secure practices into systems and workflows, with a strong focus on supporting field operations and advancing global outreach initiatives.

  • Records Management Intern - The intern will assist in the digitization of paper and microfilm records to aid the Records team in the discoverability of information. This will aid in the answering of research requests from the field, US staff, and external researchers.

IMB’s vision comes from Revelation 7:9-10: “a multitude from every nation, tribe, people and language knowing and worshiping our Lord Jesus Christ.” Our mission is ‌to serve Southern Baptists in carrying out the Great Commission to make disciples of all nations. Fulfilling this vision and mission is a team effort and could not happen without the U.S.-based staff serving on a variety of teams like finance, logistics and church mobilization.

Working at the IMB is a call to ministry. It is an opportunity for you to use your gifts and skills to support the global mission and make an eternal impact. If you feel called to utilize your skills in support of this mission and to develop your career, consider the possibility of joining our team this summer.
