Counselor III - Intern - Advanced Degree

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Counselor III – Intern to join our clinical team. This internship fulfills academic field placement requirements for graduate students pursuing advanced degrees in counseling, social work, or related fields. Under the supervision of a licensed clinician, the intern will gain valuable experience providing therapeutic services, case management, and advocacy for diverse client populations.

 

This internship is unpaid.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling under supervision.
  • Conduct client intakes, assessments, and assist in developing treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of services.
  • Participate in clinical supervision, team meetings, and training sessions.
  • Assist with case management and referrals to community resources.
  • Support clients in achieving mental health and wellness goals.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care.
  • Uphold ethical and professional standards in all interactions.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Current enrollment in an accredited Master’s program in Counseling, Social Work (MSW), Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field
  • 0–3 years of related experience
  • CANS certification preferred
  • Valid Class C or D license required

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and trauma-informed care
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
