About the role:

As an engineering intern, you will focus on using industry best practices, including INPO AP-913, to improve equipment reliability, maintenance strategies, testing frequency, inventory management, and long-term plant safety. You will also focus on the development of procurement strategies for nuclear equipment, materials, and services to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.

You will report to the Procurement Engineering Manager and be located at our Rock Hill location. This is a paid full-time onsite summer position.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with nuclear industry standards, regulations, and company policies in all procurement activities
  • Maintain relationships with nuclear vendors and suppliers to ensure delivery of high-quality products and services
  • Apply INPO AP-913 principles to develop Equipment Reliability strategies, including Maintenance Basis optimization and equipment criticality assessments
  • Apply engineering principles and engineering codes & standards, such as ASME and ANSI, to the design, analysis, and evaluation of systems
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for nuclear equipment, materials, and services to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards
  • Conduct technical evaluations of vendor proposals and bids to ensure compliance with technical requirements and company standards

 

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical or nuclear engineering
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Completed Sophomore year of college
  • No relocation assistance provided

 

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The hourly rate for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $22.69 to $27.50 per hour.
