About the Role

Job Summary

The Cement Lab Intern will gain hands-on experience in the preparation and analysis of materials to meet industry specifications. This role offers the opportunity to learn about cement testing procedures and work directly with concrete and cement materials, contributing to quality control and assurance efforts under the guidance of experienced laboratory professionals.

Compensation

$22.00-$27.00/hr DOE

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize laboratory safety, following company guidelines and policies
  • Assist in sampling, preparing, and collecting materials for testing
  • Support concrete trial batches, including material preparation and weighing
  • Collect and perform analysis on aggregate samples
  • Maintain a clean and organized laboratory space and assist with inventory management
  • Provide support to laboratory staff in other tasks as needed

Education

Currently pursuing a degree in Chemistry or Material Science

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
    •    Good attendance and punctual 
    •    Ability to work independently and in a team setting
    •    Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and perform physical labor in inclement weather
    •    Must possess a valid driver's license, insurance and be insurable to drive company vehicles
    Preferred: 

Prior experience or internship in the construction or building materials industry

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
