<p><strong>Lab Summary: </strong>The<strong> </strong>Mobile Processor Innovation (MPI) Team, Samsung Research America, serves the research and development needs of Samsung Electronics including the Mobile eXperience (MX) Smartphone business, which leads the global market with innovative technology and design, by launching breakthrough products such as the Galaxy S series, and Foldable series.&nbsp; We develop the next generation of AI computational imaging and video technologies, which power the cameras in the world’s number one handset by focused and dedicated development and collaboration with teams around the world.</p> <p><strong>Position Summary:</strong> Samsung MPI Team is currently looking to fill internship positions for advanced smartphone camera technology R&amp;D as well as future AI computational imaging R&amp;D. As part of the team, you will be working on computational imaging algorithms built on generative and traditional AI to improve user experience and develop new use cases. You will be working with industry experts and will have a chance to understand how complex camera systems work on flagship smartphones and emerging camera technologies.&nbsp; MPI Team is an advanced R&amp;D lab directly contributing to and impacting Samsung Mobile’s products. As an intern at MPI Team, you will be responsible for developing new user experience differentiation by bringing cutting edge AI and computational imaging technologies.</p> <p><strong>Position Responsibilities:</strong> (day-to-day work, tasks and duties description) &nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Develop advanced AI computational imaging algorithm or deep learning-based algorithm for challenging computation photography and video capturing applications such as low light photography, super resolution, etc.</li> <li>Design new AI algorithms, network architectures, and implementations for advanced computational imaging applications</li> <li>Prototype algorithms</li> <li>Understand the constraints (both power and performance) of mobile systems and use that understanding to deliver feasible and efficient solutions</li> <li>Demonstrate the feasibility and usability of the technologies by developing demo</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Skills:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience</li> <li>Hands-on experience with deep learning and computational photography</li> <li>Coursework on AI/Deep learning, embedded system, and imaging/computer vision algorithms</li> <li>Strong communication skills for effective interactions with team members</li> </ul><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description">Our total rewards programs are designed to motivate and engage exceptional talent.
