Job Description:

Department:

EDF Trading Markets Limited is the Paris Branch of EDF Trading and provides the base for the European Optimisation business. The optimisation of the EDF SA production assets on the European wholesale markets is conducted on a 24/7 basis by the teams in Paris in close cooperation with the EDF Asset management. Optimisation and proprietary trading are conducted across multiple markets. This requires quick decision-making and the ability to react to changes in supply, demand, and market conditions. We are continuously building models, generating forecasts, and contemplating short-term energy market designs to ameliorate our strategies.

Position purpose:

We are seeking a motivated and talented intern to join the Intraday trading team in Paris and focus on the European electricity market.  

The intern will primarily focus on app deployment from backend to frontend to support trading activities.

Main responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with our team to understand the needs.
  • Collect data from several sources and cleaning it to create robust datasets
  • Deploy APIs and apps that will be used on day to day basis
  • Learn containerization and production deployment

Personal and professional requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or related disciplines). Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Very strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Must be result-driven, with a problem-solving mentality.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must demonstrate strength in programming and modelling (preferably Python), good skills in Machine Learning are required
  • Interest in the functioning of the European power networks and energy markets.
  • High motivation, enthusiasm and ability to work autonomously.
  • Knowledge of Docker, Git and Azure is recommended

The intern will work closely with the traders and analysts. She/he is expected to work independently and proactively.
