We are currently looking for a Pipeline Integrity Intern for our Houston, TX or Baton Rouge, LA office.

 

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

 

To support the In-Line Inspection (ILI) program by assisting with data analysis, tool run preparation, anomaly tracking, and post-run reviews to ensure pipeline integrity is maintained in compliance with regulations and company standards. The ILI Intern will gain hands-on experience with integrity management processes, regulatory documentation, and industry technologies used to assess and manage threats to pipeline assets.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Basic understanding of pipeline systems and fluid mechanics (coursework or lab experience acceptable).
  • Strong analytical skills – able to interpret technical data and assist in anomaly evaluation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and able to work with datasets and templates.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills – to contribute to technical documentation and communicate with internal teams.
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow procedures with high accuracy.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Familiarity with in-line inspection technologies (e.g., MFL, caliper, EMAT, UT, deformation tools).
  • Coursework or training in nondestructive testing (NDT) or material science.
  • Experience with GIS or mapping software (e.g., PODS, ArcGIS).
  • Basic knowledge of 49 CFR 192, especially Subpart O (Pipeline Integrity Management).

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

 

  • High School Diploma
  • Must be a current Junior or Senior student
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related STEM field.

 

PREFERRED:

 

  • Must be a current Junior or Senior student
  • Associates Degree
