BMS Re, a reinsurance broker in the US, is looking for our Summer 2026 Broker Intern class. Broker Internships are available in Minneapolis, New York, and Philadelphia.
As an Intern, you are a member of a broker team that works directly with clients and markets on risk management analysis. You will work with the general assistance and support from senior brokers. The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities including quantifying how much risk to retain and transfer to the reinsurance market, ensuring Client and Reinsurer relationships are maintained and assist in managing and coordinating client account activities.
During this 10-week internship, interns work directly with brokers, accounting and claims, and contract colleagues to provide exceptional service to our clients, offering hands-on experience in the field of risk management and (re)insurance broking. In addition, interns participate in formal training, a weekly lunch and learn series and social events and are exposed to senior leaders within the organization.
We are looking for candidates who are/have:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree from four-year college/university or equivalent; all majors
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or above
- Highly collaborative personality with ability to maintain positive client relationships; flexible to meet the needs and demands of a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to see big picture with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time, prioritize and work to deadlines, adept at multi-tasking with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with internal and external clients.
- Ability to learn quickly and effectively incorporate new concepts and practices; flexible and open to change.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook experience
Interns are paid between $22 - $25 per hour depending on the geographic location. Housing is not provided.

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide marker range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary advanced to the desired candidate will be based on a number of factors, including geographic location and the skills, education, training, credentials, and experience of the desired candidate.
