About the Role

About our group:

The Component Test Development and Electrical Integration is a part of Characterization and Analytics Group (CAG), Recording Head Technology, that helps provide test solutions and design learnings at the transducer level to the Recording Head Design teams. We work closely with Test Developers and Recording Head designers in Minnesota USA and Springtown UK.

About the role - you will:

•    Work with mentor to qualify, and deploy test applications and test tools (HW/SW) for design feedback, process control, and screening outgoing heads
•    Work with mentor to conduct magnetic recording experiments to characterize performance and reliability, perform data analysis of the expected performance in comparison with the results and present results to transducer development teams
•    Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results#internship

About you:

•    MS student or PhD student in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, or related fields 
•    Have a good (can-do) attitude and eager to learn
•    Able to communicate and present technical subject with a diverse group of engineers and any other functions
•    Fluent in English communication both spoken and written

Your experience includes:

•    Computer programming languages (e.g. Python, C), automated data collection and processing (e.g. SQL, JMP), and analysis of large datasets
•    Skilled in the use of electronic equipment (electrical circuits, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, etc.) - Preferable
