Job Summary

Join CenterPoint Energy's Houston Electric Operations and gain valuable, hands-on experience in the utility sector. As an intern, you will support engineering teams across key divisions, which may include Transmission, Distribution, Substation, Major Underground, System Protection, Standards and Materials, Distribution Planning, Realtime Operations, and Control Systems. This role offers an opportunity to apply your academic knowledge to real-world projects that impact millions of customers. 

 

Essential Functions

  • Assist engineers with diverse projects across multiple operational areas.
  • Maintain and update Access databases and Excel spreadsheets to track project status.
  • Compile and deliver project completion data to stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.

 

Education 

  • Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing.
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

 

Experience

  • No expereience required
  • Must have a valid/current drivers license
