About the Role

Barco Labs

At Barco, the Barco Labs group is responsible for Research and development into the latest technologies. As a cross divisional R&D unit, we are focused on building the knowledge and prototypes that align with long term goals. This means there is a constant rotation of new projects, and a couple that prove their worth to keep being developed.   

 

Subject

For an emerging project which focuses on Robotics, we are looking for an intern to investigate the different mechanical ways of achieving the desired result, as well as help defining the code to properly drive the system. We have done preliminary research but are still open to cocreation and creative student input. The subject can be approached as wide or narrow as the student desires, focusing on a broader, wholistic design approach or focusing more on a few specific aspects.

Keywords; Motor control, Robotics, Inverse Kinematics, Artificial Intelligence and Camera Vision.

 

Qualifications

(If you are skilled in just one of the experience fields below, but less in the others. please do still consider applying.) 

  • You should be a student in a technical discipline, eligible to work at our HQ in Kortrijk, Belgium
  • Experience with Arduino programming or a similar platform
  • Experience with driving motors, robot arms, robotics - Experience with inverse kinematics
  • Experience with sensor integration ( camera's, IR, distance, ...)
  • Fluent in English
  • Creative, driven, DIY
  • Practical and Goal oriented
