The Application Security Intern will collaborate with Genmab’s Application Security lead to design and implement a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that enables secure, standards-driven interactions between human users and AI agents.</p><p></p><p><b>What You’ll Do </b></p><ul><li><p>Assist in architecting and developing a secure MCP server aligned to Genmab’s AI security principles.</p></li><li><p>Research and apply security standards (e.g., NIST SSDF, OWASP ASVS, CSA AI guidelines) to the design of agent–tool interactions.</p></li><li><p>Prototype, test, and validate secure communication workflows between human users and AI agents.</p></li><li><p>Evaluate risks associated with cross-agent communication, identity, and authorization within MCP-based systems.</p></li><li><p>Document architecture decisions, security controls, and implementation patterns for internal engineering and security teams.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills</b></p><ul><li><p>Currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field.</p></li><li><p>Strong foundational knowledge of application security, secure software design, or distributed system architecture.</p></li><li><p>Experience with Python, TypeScript, or similar languages commonly used in AI/agent ecosystems.</p></li><li><p>Understanding of authentication/authorization models (e.g., OAuth, mTLS, API security patterns).</p></li><li><p>Ability to analyze technical problems, conduct independent research, and clearly communicate complex concepts.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills</b></p><ul><li><p>Familiarity with emerging AI agent frameworks such as MCP, A2A, or agent orchestration platforms.</p></li><li><p>Exposure to secure design principles for LLM-based systems or AI security controls.</p></li><li><p>Hands-on experience with cloud-native development (AWS, Azure) or containerized services.</p></li><li><p>Background in protocol design, systems engineering, or security architecture.</p></li><li><p>Passion for building safe, reliable, and auditable AI-driven solutions.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>General Intern Information – Date/Location/Schedule</b></p><p>Internships will take place June – August 2026.  This role will be based in Princeton, New Jersey, and operate on a required hybrid schedule – 3 days in the office and 2 days remote per week.
