In this role you will be part of the Product Design team, which is made up of several groups that define, create, and deliver all user-facing aspects of Stripe’s product. Product Designers are strategic partners to Engineering and Product Management within their product area. In close collaboration with product teams, they shape user experiences, then translate them into high-quality designs that can be tested, shipped, and refined. Designers are responsible for building elegant, functional products that users love—and want to tell others about.</p> <h3><strong>What You'll Do</strong></h3> <p>As a Product Design Intern, you will focus on designing and building experiences that will be shipped to our users in production. You will contribute design iterations to ongoing project workstreams, tackling important projects to increase global commerce, and help shape brand new experiences.</p> <p>Key responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Working on a product design project</strong> with a product team, translating business ideas into real experience.</li> <li>Helping craft thoughtful experiences that enable startups and large businesses to establish and manage their businesses.</li> <li>Applying <strong>problem-solving skills</strong> and human-centered approaches to address complex and ambiguous business and user problems.</li> <li>Developing and refine design solutions by partnering closely with other designers.</li> <li>Crafting and prototype visually polished experiences to get user feedback.&nbsp;</li> <li>Partnering closely with engineering to <strong>implement a feature/product from design to implementation, and get it in the hands of our users.</strong></li> <li><strong>Engage in group Design critiques</strong> and collaborative design sessions to improve and receive feedback on your work.</li> <li>Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including engineers, product managers, data scientists, and researchers, proactively seeking and incorporating feedback.</li> <li>Understand and advocate for our users, participating in the design process from early concepts to final delivery.</li> </ul> <h3><strong>Who You Are</strong></h3> <p>We are seeking individuals who meet the minimum requirements below and are encouraged to apply, even if their experience does not precisely match every aspect of the job description. We welcome diverse perspectives and people who think rigorously.</p> <h4><strong>Minimum Requirements</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Currently pursuing a <strong>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree</strong> in a design-related field, such as UX/UI, Interaction Design, Human Interface, Computer Science,&nbsp; HCI, or a related discipline.</li> <li>Some experience using computer programs to design, such as <strong>Figma/Canva</strong>.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience designing experiences and user flows.</li> <li>Strong understanding of <strong>user-centered design principles and best practices</strong>.</li> <li>Ability to learn unfamiliar systems, form an understanding through independent research, and effectively work with a mentor and teammates.</li> <li>Are a self-motivated problem solver committed to personal growth.</li> <li>Strong interpersonal and <strong>communication skills</strong>.</li> <li>Ability to participate in a paid full-time internship between <strong>May–September</strong>. This is typically a 12-week program during summer 2026.</li> </ul> <h4><strong>Preferred Qualifications (A bonus, not a requirement)</strong></h4> <ul> <li>Previous project, internship, or work experience in UX/UI design or related fields.</li> <li>Experience working with or conducting your own research, presenting results, and acting on those results.</li> <li>Experience with AI tools like Cursor, Lovable, V0, or any others.</li> <li>Strong knowledge in design craft and visual design.</li> <li>Intent to return to the degree program after the completion of the internship/co-op.</li> </ul>
