About the Role

Position Description

At a Glance

 

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an IT Intern to join the Data Power & Control Division Starline Team in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Seeking a college/graduate student for a summer internship. The Intern will assist in the IT business applications tasks, including business processes analysis around critical business applications, especially the ERP and Office 365 Power Platform. The intern will learn about business requirements gathering, compilation, analysis, and solutions design under the instruction of senior IT members.

 

Main Activities:

  • Analyze problems both technically and from business users
  • Fix problems as necessary with code or data changes
  • Interface with various business partners to understand processes and problems
  • Perform data analytics
  • Create documentation around customizations and processes

 

Main Job Duties:

  • Determine causes for points of failure
  • Understanding data, technical process flows, and business process flows
  • Reverse engineering and understanding of existing code and system processes
  • Make coding changes in the system as required
  • Data analysis and data mining
  • Documenting changes and processes as necessary

Qualifications

Education:

Rising junior or senior pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field.

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Basic SQL programming skills required
  • Strong communication skills
  • Professional Intra-personal Skills
  • A basic understanding of flow charts is required
  • Advanced knowledge of MS-Excel is required
  • Understanding of reporting, such as Power BI, preferred but not required
  • Basic understanding of flat files (CSV, XML) preferred but not required
