Position Summary
Responsible for performing general accounting duties such as preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and reviewing financial statements.
Responsibilities
- Track cash transactions by location
- Execute cash intercompany exchanges
- Reconcile cash accounts
- Reconcile general ledger accounts to subsidiary ledgers
- Monitor daily cash deposits and variances to system reports for daily cash/check sales
- Support fraud protection functions with banks
- Tracking of fixed assets, including equipment/vehicle leases and titles, and calculation of depreciation
- Assist with maintenance of corporate records and permits
- Reporting and remissions of sales and property taxes
- Participate in month close process, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Work with all levels of the organization to answer financial inquiries and resolve outstanding issues
- Ad hoc projects within the accounting team
Target Experience
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance environment, retail accounting experience a plus
- Familiarity with standard accounting concepts, practices, and procedures
- Strong analytical skills and ability to take initiative toward problem resolution
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Customer-oriented focus
- Ability to adhere to schedules and meet deadlines
- Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
- Ability to work with all levels of an organization
- Ability to discreetly handle confidential and sensitive information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Multi-location experience a plus
- Proficiency in Epicor ERP a plus
