About The Company
Dyson solves real-world problems and creates better products through the application of engineering, science, design and creativity. It is a family-owned, global technology company, founded by Sir James Dyson who remains at the helm alongside his son Jake. Since inventing the first cyclonic bagless vacuum cleaner, the DC01, Dyson has consistently invested in research and development to improve its products and technologies radically. Dyson offers products across a growing range of areas: floorcare, air purification, robotics, haircare including formulations, lighting, hand drying, and most recently audio. Dyson continues to expand into new areas. Today, Dyson sells products in more than 80 markets, has 450 Dyson stores worldwide and is available in all major technology and beauty retailers. Dyson has global headquarters in Singapore and major technology campuses in Singapore, the UK, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Its global team of engineers, scientists and software developers are focused on developing technology-enabled products which work better and which people love to use. Key areas of focus have included high-speed electric digital motors, sensing and vision systems, robotics, machine learning and aerodynamics. Beyond products, to encourage an inventive future, Dyson is also inspiring the next generation of engineers and inventors through the Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology, the James Dyson Foundation and the James Dyson Award. The Dyson family applies its problem-solving approach in other fields, and established Dyson Farming in 2012. It is one of the largest farming businesses in the UK, extending to 36,000 acres across Lincolnshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Somerset. It is a family-owned enterprise unlike any other, focussed on long-term investment in British farming and the countryside to grow tasty and nutritious food.
About the Role

About us

Dyson is a global technology enterprise.  We solve the problems others choose to ignore, with surprising new inventions that defy convention and simply work better.  We’re driven by progress and thrive on the challenge of relentless improvement.  We’re growing fast and our ambition is huge – more categories, more locations and more people.

Our scale and rapid growth make Dyson rich in new opportunities.   We value new ideas and diverse perspectives, so our people are trusted with real work and responsibility from the outset.  You’ll develop fast and have the chance to move into different business areas and regions.  And you’ll be part of a global network of like-minded people – a community that supports and learns from each other.

At Dyson we do things differently.  We look for the brightest new graduates with the right attitude to thrive in our unique culture.  We offer real jobs with real salaries and real prospects.  We need self-starters, people who are motivated and drive themselves forward.  You can’t sit back and wait to be told what to do.  You will have autonomy and freedom to excel and will be pushed forward to become our future leaders.

About the role

We push the boundaries of what others have defined as possible.  Our engineering approach starts with different thinking.  Then we continuously refine our ideas – unwilling to compromise and driven by an obsession for finding a better way.  Today we employ more than 5,800 people around the world in software engineering, mechanical engineering and science related roles.

You will be working as part of a larger project team and have your own set of deliverables and the chance to take ownership of how these are achieved.

Working as part of the Quality function, your role will be to analyse data on how our products perform, working closely with the markets to understand consumer feedback and insights.  You will be working on analysing product data for unexpected signals, looking for opportunities to improve products and processes, supporting and maintaining existing reports and dashboards, capturing clear requirements direct from business stakeholders, creating analytical solutions that impress, inspire and become essential tools and review and deliver insightful recommendations based on analytical solutions.

Working with the team and interacting across business stakeholders, you’ll be comfortable learning from others but also sharing your own knowledge, ideas and opinions.

About you

Our roles are competitive and delivering the next generation of Dyson technology is tough, so you will need to be:

  • Studying towards a Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Physics or Information Systems (or related) degree.

  • Be working towards a relevant Engineering or Science discipline, but with an interest in technical science, engineering or product development.

  • Be in your penultimate year of your undergraduate or combined masters degree programme (exceptions allowed for 5 year programmes with a placement in the third year).

  • Able to evidence how you have applied your technical knowledge to solve problems, either through your university projects or as part of your extra-curricular activities

  • Happy to build your own networks to learn from the technical expertise around you.

  • Creative problem solver with the ability to multitask in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Passionate about Dyson and our technology to help us meet our ambitious future plans.

Working for us

Our internship programme connects academic theory with practical experience. Gain valuable insights into professional applications through mentorships with our industry-leading experts and exposure to cutting-edge practices.

Join our internship programme to jumpstart your career. We look to offer selected high-performing interns an opportunity to return on our graduate programme.
