About the Role

Job Summary

  • Assists with the administration of treatments under specific instruction and supervision of a licensed therapist. 
  • Maintains the department and treatment areas in a safe and clean condition.
  • Maintains supplies necessary for daily operation of the clinic/department. 
  • Assists patients with routine ambulation under direction of the nursing staff (Porter Acute Care).
  • Provides supervision of community aquatics programs. (PPC)
  • Assists in collecting and maintaining information related to therapy treatment information. 

Qualifications

Education

  • High school education or equivalent required. 
  • Prefer college student with declared major or enrollment in Physical Therapy, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupation Therapy, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, or other health related field (i.e., nursing, physical education, etc.)  
  • Skills with computer and typing preferred.

Experience

  • Prefer hospital experience with direct patient care. 

Licensure/Certification/Registration/Professional Designation ETC

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.

Compensation

  • $10.04-$16.40/hr depending on previous work experience.
