This role is ideal for students or recent graduates who want hands-on experience building production-grade software for scientific instrumentation, data analytics, and cloud-based applications.</p> <p>You will work closely with senior engineers on real-world projects, contributing to design, development, testing, and deployment activities.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist in developing and enhancing software components for Picarro products and internal tools.</li> <li>Work with engineering teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical tasks.</li> <li>Participate in coding, debugging, and testing across various layers of the software stack.</li> <li>Collaborate in code reviews and follow best practices in software development.</li> <li>Support integration of firmware, analytics, and UI components.</li> <li>Troubleshoot issues and contribute to continuous improvements in performance and reliability.</li> <li>Prepare technical documentation where needed.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Currently pursuing or recently completed a <strong>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree</strong> in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.</li> <li>Strong foundations in <strong>Data Structures, Algorithms, and Object-Oriented Programming</strong>.</li> <li>Proficiency in at least one programming language such as <strong>Python or Java</strong></li> <li>Familiarity with software development tools (Git, IDEs, debugging tools).</li> <li>Good analytical and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Strong communication and willingness to learn.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Exposure to web technologies (JavaScript/React/Node.js) is a plus.</li> <li>Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) or CI/CD pipelines.</li> <li>Basic understanding of embedded systems or scientific instrumentation.</li> <li>Prior internship or project experience with real-world applications.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p> <ul> <li>Six months immersive internship with hands-on engineering experience.</li> <li>Opportunity to work on impactful products used globally in environmental and industrial applications.</li> <li>Mentorship from experienced software and hardware engineers.</li> <li>Collaborative, inclusive work culture in Picarro’s growing Bangalore team.</li> </ul> <p>We are the world's leader in timely, trusted, and actionable data using enhanced optical spectroscopy.
