Job Description

At Bosch Research in Pittsburgh, we are looking for an enthusiastic research intern to develop novel solutions at the intersection of wireless perception and AI. More specifically, in this internship you will help develop novel AI-based solutions for improved spatiotemporal context awareness by leveraging wireless signals captured using Wi-Fi Channel State Information (CSI). Potential applications include human presence detection, activity recognition, and fine-grained behavioral understanding. The internship role will focus on the following responsibilities:

  • Develop novel Wi-Fi-based perception algorithms using signal processing and AI-based techniques for improved context awareness.
  • Evaluate the performance of the solution.
  • Show a proof-of-concept demo.
  • Summarize the findings and submit a high-quality research paper or a patent application.

Qualifications

Required Qualification:

  • Currently enrolled as a PhD student in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong background in wireless signal processing using Wi-Fi CSI.
  • Broad knowledge of machine-learning, signal processing algorithms, and state-of-the-art methods.
  • 2+ years programming experience using Python and proficiency in PyTorch.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

Desired Qualification:

  • Experience of smart home sensing using Wi-Fi CSI/RSSI.
  • Experience of using Nexmon Wi-Fi CSI extraction tool.
  • Publication records in leading venues (SenSys, IPSN, MobiSys, MobiCom, IMWUT, IROS).

The U.S. base salary range for this intern position is $31.00 - $59.00 /hour. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, type of degree, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, type of position, job location, etc. Your Hiring Manager can share more details about the specific salary range for this position during the interview process.
