About the Role
Provide assistance to line and staff personnel in order to develop solutions for product and manufacturing problems for a complete line of apparatus. Initiate and prepare specifications for products, equipment, tooling, processes, and systems to obtain optimum cost and quality manufacturability. Implement and utilize strategies to ensure concurrent engineering and design for manufacturing concepts with the design engineering team. Investigate and develop understanding of new technologies and processes and be able to assess these from a broad perspective in terms of the impact of the total business. Design, develop, justify, and guide the installation of new engineering concepts, equipment, tooling, processes, and systems through appropriate procedures so that optimum manufacturing cost can be achieved and maintained. Participate in project management and engaging with multi-disciplined teams to achieve goals using ProLaunch and other project management tools. Participate in Voice of the Customer (VOC) product and market requirements research. Ensure timely completion to project commitment dates. Actively enrolled in a bachelor's degree or master's degree program in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering. Minimum of one internship or co-op experience or an equivalent of 3 months work experience completed at the time of this application. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future. Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (please don't round). Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates that reside outside a 50-mile radius of Sumter, SC.
