About The Company
ING is a pioneer in digital banking and on the forefront as one of the most innovative banks in the world. As ING, we have a clear purpose that represents our conviction of people’s potential. We don’t judge, coach, or tell people how to live their lives. However big or small, modest or grand, we empower people and businesses to realise their vision for a better future. We made the promise to make banking frictionless, removing barriers to progress, and make people confident in their financial decisions. As a global bank we have a huge opportunity – and responsibility – to make an impact for the better. We can play a role by financing change, sharing knowledge, and innovating. Being sustainable is in all the choices we make—as a lender, as a partner and through the services we offer our customers
About the Role

We're looking for a motivated individual to assist with the development and implementation of asset-liability management (ALM) models. As an intern, you'll work closely with our ALM team to support the development of financial projections and scenarios for various asset products.

Responsibilities

  • Work on developing and maintaining ALM models for assets, including data input, model calibration, and scenario analysis.
  • Collaborate with the assets team to develop behavioural models that capture customer behaviour over time.
  • Conduct sensitivity analysis and stress testing of the ALM models to assess the impact of various risk factors on the financial projections.
  • Analyze the results with the ALM team to identify potential areas of risk or opportunity.
  • Help prepare presentations and reports for internal stakeholders.

How to succeed

We hire smart people like you for your potential. Our biggest expectation is that you’ll stay curious. Keep learning. Take on responsibility. In return, we’ll back you to develop into an even more awesome version of yourself.

We are looking for you if you are:

  • Currently in the final year of pursuing a degree in Econometrics, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field. Note that you must hold a student status throughout the duration of the internship.
  • Available for at least 6 months
  • Studying at a Dutch University (non-EU citizens on non-Dutch Universities are not allowed due to Visa restrictions)
  • Familiar with financial modelling techniques
  • Proficient in coding, preferably Python
  • Excellent in written and verbal communication skills

What we offer

  • The opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of ALM modelling
  • A step towards an international career at ING with a quantitative basis
  • A dynamic and agile working environment

Rewards and benefits

This is a great opportunity to train with highly skilled people who are experts in their field. You’ll do a lot and learn a lot – not only about your specialist area and the bank, but also about yourself and whether this type of environment is right for you.

You’ll also benefit from:

  • Internship allowance of 700 EUR based on a 36 hours work week

  • Your own work laptop

  • Hybrid working to blend home working for focus and office working for collaboration and co-creation

  • Personal growth and challenging work with endless possibilities

  • An informal working environment with innovative colleagues

During the duration of your internship at ING, it is mandatory to be enrolled at a Dutch university (or EU-university for EU passport holders).
