About the Role

 

Schneider Electric currently has an outstanding opportunity for a hard working and motivated individual to assume the role of Software Engineer Intern for Summer 2026 in Fort, Collins, CO. What will you do?

Your daily routine here at Schneider Electric will include participation on an Agile team developing state of the art software. You will collaborate with other engineers, quality assurance engineers, and others to build an excellent user experience for our utility industry customers. Our software is developed on the Microsoft .NET stack using C# and other technologies such as WPF and Xamarin. We build cloud hosted applications using micro-services in the Microsoft Azure cloud.

In your role as an Infrastructure Engineering Intern, you would participate in the following activities:

  • Collaborate with cloud engineers to estimate the size and effort of small automation or infrastructure-related tasks.

  • Develop scripts, utilities, or small tooling enhancements based on internal team needs and specifications.

  • Participate in planning meetings, technical discussions, documentation updates, and other aspects of the infrastructure workflow.

  • Fix low-complexity defects in internal tools, scripts, or configurations.

  • Assist with getting started on automated tests for our security regression bucket by contributing simple test cases, validation checks, or framework setup.
  • Support research spikes on cloud services, automation opportunities, or operational improvements.

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $22.00 - $27.00 per hour. In addition, this position is eligible for overtime pay and may also include premium pay or differentials, depending on location.

 

The compensation rate for this position is for candidates located within the United States. Individual pay is determined by several factors including knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • Current student working toward a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field with a computing or cloud emphasis

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

  • Excited to be part of a dynamic engineering team improving infrastructure, automation, and internal tooling

  • Experience with scripting or C#/.NET development.

  • Basic understanding of Azure and cloud/infrastructure concepts.

  • Familiarity with Git and general software engineering basics (logs, debugging, working in a repo).

 

Relocation assistance is not available for this position; you must be local to Colorado before the start of the internship.
