JOB DESCRIPTION

THERAPY INTERN GRADUATE

 

 

JOB SUMMARY:

 

Individual will assist with group, individual, and family therapy under supervision from licensed therapy staff. Individual will also provide evidence-based behavioral interventions and therapeutic strategies to patients and families, assist with case management and safety planning, observe treatment plans and reviews, assist with crisis intervention, complete Columbia assessments, and observe and participate in treatment team meetings while supervised by therapy staff. Reports directly to the Director of Therapy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Under supervision of a Masters prepared therapy staff member, may assist with the following:

  1. Provide supportive counseling for adult, adolescent, and child patients
  2. Provide group therapy for adult, adolescence, and child patients.
  3. Provide group therapy for adults, adolescence, and children.
  4. Assists with completing patient assessments
  5. Assists with safety and discharge planning
  6. Assists with crisis intervention
  7. Assists with treatment planning
  8. Presents patient information at treatment tem meetings for reviews of patient progress and discharge planning procedures.
  9. Maintains all clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and accrediting standards
  10. Documents and reports all suspected incidents of abuse and/or neglect in compliance with current regulations.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

  1. Meets staff development requirements.
  2. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

Must have completed Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health field (social work, counseling, psychology). General Social Work Licensure preferred.

 

Certificates, License, Registration:

None

 

Language Skills:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable as needed. Ability to write routine reports and speak effectively with patients and their families, employees and public.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable as needed. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

 

Other Skills and Abilities:

Ability to deal with a variety of personality types; remains calm during high stress situations.
