Job Location: AAON Tulsa - Tulsa, OK 74107
Position Type: Internship
Salary Range: $17.28 - $25.91 Hourly

Job Summary: Gain an understanding of Lab Technician duties and support in executing rework and setup activities on commercial HVAC systems for testing, ensuring they meet performance standards.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with testing engineers and technicians to coordinate area activities.
  • Participates in testing units to ensure they align with engineering specifications.
  • Troubleshoots and rectifies defects in test units during the testing process.
  • Aids in constructing test setups and other related projects.
  • Confirms the accuracy of unit assembly according to work orders and engineering standards.
  • Engages in activities like wiring, operating recovery/vacuum machines, and recharging refrigeration systems, as well as performing brazing and assembly tasks as necessary.
  • Fulfills job assignments promptly to meet testing schedules.

Qualifications


Education and Experience Requirements:

An individual in this job should either be enrolled in or have completed Vocational/Technical Training or possess HVAC experience. Ideally, candidates will have 0-5 years of industry experience or equivalent education in a related field.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic refrigeration knowledge
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • 40 hours per week availability during the Summer of 2024, not to exceed 480 hours total.

 

Work Environment:

  • Requires frequent visits to manufacturing facility with seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, and some chemical fume exposure.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs., climbing, stooping, sitting, or standing for prolonged periods.
