Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. As an Engineering Intern on our Suture Prototyping team, you’ll get hands-on experience designing and testing cutting-edge medical devices. This is a unique opportunity to apply creativity and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, collaborative Prototype environment. This is a great opportunity to apply analytical and creative problem-solving skills to overcome design challenges, improve performance, and enhance manufacturability. Also, work side-by-side with experienced engineers to brainstorm, design, and build prototype sutures using innovative materials and techniques. Testing and analyzing results to understand how designs perform will be an important responsibility. As an Intern on suture team, you’ll be part of a team that values innovation, curiosity, and collaboration.

 

This internship will run from May 2026 – August 2026. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 30-40 hours per week at our Ave Maria, FL facility.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineers and Prototype Team.
  • Support Suture (Textile) Prototype developments.
  • Develop mechanical Fixtures.
  • Data analysis and Improvement processes.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions.
  • Support prototype automation. 


Education and Experience:

  • Progress towards a college degree in a Engineering required. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)

 

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

  • CAD Software, Hands-on Prototyping, Data Analysis, 3D Printing, Design of Experiments (DOE), Presentation Skills, and Technical Writing preferred.

 

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

  • PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
