About the Role
 
Maintenance Intern  

P&H Milling 
P&H is the largest Canadian-owned milling company. The P&H Milling Group sources wheat from Western Canada, Ontario, and Atlantic Canada to produce quality flour and cereal products. The lineup includes hard red spring wheat flour for breads and other bakery products, soft winter wheat flour for cakes and cookies, and semolina flour for pasta, organic flour, and atta flour for chapati. In our specialty milling operation in Saskatoon, we also mill pea fractions.  
 
From its mills in Halifax, Nova Scotia; Acton, Hanover, Hamilton and Cambridge, Ontario; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Lethbridge, Alberta, the P&H Milling Group supplies flour to customers throughout Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Iceland, and Pacific Rim countries.  

Internship Overview  
As a Maintenance Intern at P&H Milling, you’ll get hands-on experience in maintaining and servicing milling equipment and facilities. The intern will work closely with our maintenance team and gain valuable insights into the operational aspects of a modern flour mill 
Term: May 5, 2026 – August 29, 2026 

Compensation: This internship is a paid position.  

Your Day to Day 
  • Assist in performing routine maintenance tasks on milling equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting machinery. 
  • Learn to diagnose mechanical issues and perform basic repairs under the guidance of experienced maintenance technicians. 
  • Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment and machinery upgrades. 
  • Participate in troubleshooting equipment breakdowns and implementing corrective actions. 
  • Learn and follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. 
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance. 
What You'll Learn
  • Gain insights into the operation of various types of milling equipment, including cleaning, conditioning, grinding, and packaging machinery 
  • Exposure to industry-leading technology and best practices in equipment maintenance within the flour milling sector. 
  • Develop communication skills by interacting with team members and other departments, collaborating on projects, and reporting maintenance updates to supervisors 
  • Receive mentorship from industry experts and professionals in the field. 
What We're Looking For: 
  • Currently enrolled in a relevant trade or technical program (e.g., Millwright, Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance)  
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment maintenance and repair. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Willingness to learn and take initiative. 
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools. 
  • Full-time availability for a 4-month term, May – Aug 2026
