Interested in vehicle powertrain systems and electromobility functions? 

 

As a Co-op in this role, you will learn the ins-and-outs of our daily work by supporting the engineering team with hands-on analysis of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems and components, such as the combustion engine, transmission, transfercase, differential, high voltage battery, and high voltage charging system. You will be integrated into the Powertrain Validation team and directly mentored by an experienced engineer.

 

You are expected to collaborate and network with other Co-ops/Interns to support plant wide initiatives and Engineering. To be successful in this position, you must be curious, willing to learn and develop new ideas, able to balance daily operational tasks while working on several projects, have a keen understanding of time management, meet deadlines as requested, willing and able to work in a fast-paced interdisciplinary team environment, and conduct yourself professionally.

 

 

  • Support in troubleshooting and problem solving of mechanical and electrical components and systems, software, and functions.
  • Support in planning and preparation of vehicles or components for customer-based function testing for new vehicle launches and life cycle updates.
  • Support of traditional powertrain and electromobility testing plans and activities on vehicles, systems, and components
  • Documentation of results from testing activities, summary of results and support in the management of topics.
  • Vehicle and project data analysis, creation of processes or tools and basic programming.
  • Use data analytics, PowerBI and/or APEX systems to analyze specific topics regarding customer function. Reports will be used for targeted customer validation and for status of validation testing.
  • Developing applications using Oracle APEX low code interface to analyze data and streamline processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

Qualifications

  • Pursing a Bachelor or Graduate Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems/Industrial, Computer)
  • Useful skills: Programming languages, file management, presentation skills
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
  • Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week)
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from current university
  • MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term
  • THE WORK TERM DATES ARE May 18th - August 7th, 2026
  • Must be an enrolled student during all three rotations
