Description
The National WWII Museum is currently seeking an IT Intern. The IT Intern will gain hands-on exposure to multiple Information Technology disciplines, including Service Desk operations, IT Infrastructure, Information Security, and Application Support. This internship is designed for individuals interested in pursuing a career in Information Technology and seeking practical, real-world experience in a professional environment.
The intern will work under the guidance of IT professionals and receive mentorship across multiple IT domains.
Internship Duration
- Total Hours: 240 hours (20hrs/week for 12 weeks)
- Schedule: Flexible, coordinated with the IT department and academic requirements (if applicable)
Requirements
- Assist the Service Desk with basic technical support tasks, including ticket intake, documentation, and issue resolution under supervision.
- Support IT Infrastructure activities such as hardware inventory and basic network or system tasks.
- Observe and assist with Information Security practices, including access management, security awareness activities, and documentation.
- Provide support to Application Support activities, including testing, user assistance, and basic troubleshooting.
- Maintain clear documentation and follow established IT policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with IT staff on day-to-day operational tasks and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current student or recent graduate in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated interest in IT.
- Strong interest in Information Technology and willingness to learn.
- Basic familiarity with computers, operating systems, and common productivity tools.
- Ability to follow instructions, document work, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Professional demeanor and respect for confidentiality.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
