Salary Range: $22.00 - $26.00 Hourly

Calling all undergrad civil engineering students!

Collins offers an opportunity for a civil engineering student. The Lexington, Kentucky, office has an opening for a Engineering Intern for the Summer of 2026. This position will be a combination of office and time in the field. You will be able to get hands-on experience working on inspection and design projects, as well as develop work zone traffic control plans and assist with site specific health and safety plans. You will get the opportunity to be paired with professional licensed engineers creating reports and plan sets using data collected from field sites design plans.

Qualifications


Education and/or Experience

  • Junior or senior working towards a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited university.
  • Performs structural inspections and prepares inspection reports.
  • Assist in the development of site specific work zone traffic control plans for future inspections.
  • Prepares and/or checks structural calculations.
  • Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents. 
  • Field work will be required.
