About the Firm:

Monticello Associates, LLC is an investment consulting firm serving foundations, endowments, and family office clients in an investment advisory capacity. The firm is headquartered in Denver, Colorado, with additional offices in Cleveland, Ohio, Washington, D.C., and Boston, Massachusetts. Our firm provides clients with manager due diligence and selection, asset allocation strategy recommendations, performance reporting, and all other necessary functions required to support clients in their role as fiduciaries.

In 2025, Monticello partnered with Cresset, an award-winning,** independent multi-family office and private investment firm. This combination brings together Monticello’s deep experience in endowment and foundation consulting with Cresset’s scale, comprehensive family office services, and broad private market access. The result is a powerful combination of institutional rigor and boutique personalization, delivering customized solutions to clients while opening new and exciting career opportunities for our team.

About the Role:

The Investment Research Summer Internship provides a structured, hands-on introduction to the investment research and consulting process. Interns will work alongside experienced professionals in Monticello’s Research Department to evaluate investment managers, analyze data, and contribute to projects that inform client recommendations. This is an excellent opportunity for rising sophomores and juniors who are intellectually curious, analytically driven, and interested in pursuing careers in finance, economics, or consulting.

  • Support the investment research and due diligence process across public and private market strategies.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis using eVestment, Bloomberg, and other research tools.
  • Assist with performance and exposure tracking, data validation, and report preparation.
  • Draft meeting notes, research summaries, and internal presentations for the Research and Consulting teams.
  • Participate in developing asset class and thematic reports, analyzing macroeconomic trends and investment themes.
  • Contribute to ad hoc research projects to support client deliverables.

What You Can Expect:

Monticello Associates offers a dynamic and collaborative work environment where summer interns gain firsthand exposure to the institutional investment consulting process. Over the course of the 10-week paid program, you will work closely with Research Associates, Directors, and Consultants who provide ongoing mentorship and guidance. Interns have the opportunity to interact with leading investment managers, attend internal research meetings, and contribute to real-time projects shaping client recommendations. Throughout the internship, you will develop skills in financial modeling, data analysis, and professional communication while working in an analytical, fast-paced setting that encourages curiosity, teamwork, and growth.
