Job Details

Position Type: Internship

Tax Intern: In this position there is direct supervision, guidance and review by higher level accountant who provide instruction, assign work and review performance.

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn how to prepare simple federal, state, and local tax returns for businesses (private and nonprofit) and individuals
  • Learn basic bookkeeping skills
  • Learn how businesses operate
  • Learn how to handle complex business situations
  • Learn about tax laws and how they affect decisions
  • Learn the following software:
    • CCH Axcess
    • QuickBooks
    • Excel

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Qualifications


Education:

  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in accounting or another related field.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Time Commitment:

  • A minimum of 15 hours a week maybe be required.
