Job Shift: Day

As an Information Technology Intern, you will perform various assignments requiring minimal skills for the Information Technology Department. You will be given opportunities to focus on disciplines such as software, networking, or service desk and support or to rotate through these.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with IT Team Members to assist and learn various areas of IT.
  • For Network Focus: assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software. Help with the documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • For Service Desk and Support focus: assist service desk technicians with customer incidents and requests. Provide in-person support to customers as needed with direction from service desk technicians. Assist in the imaging of new computers and decommissioning of old ones.
  • For Software Focus: participate in user configuration, requirements gathering, software development reviews, and related activities.
  • Report immediately all suspicious and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
  • Understand and observe all safety guidelines and assure quality and safety by complying with all appropriate CBI policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining clean, orderly, and hazard-free work areas.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, be a self-starter and be detail oriented.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Basic computer skills with interest in learning and growing.
  • For Network focus:
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Familiarity with network hardware (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls) is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • For Service Desk and Support focus:
  • Ability to work with customers and established customer service skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Experience in downloading and installing software.
  • Experience with setting up computers, monitors and printers.
  • For Software focus:
  • Interest in software development, business analysis, project management, databases, reporting, or configuration
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with the Internet and browsers
  • Interest in learning new systems and technologies.
  • Scripting, configuration, business analysis, or project management experience or skills is a bonus.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Currently pursuing a degree or certification in Information Technology or a related field.
