Internship Program Overview
Our 10-week summer internship program gives students hands-on experience and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while learning about our organization. Interns will connect with leaders, participate in development sessions like self-assessments and business overviews, and take part in networking and community initiatives. The program concludes with a final presentation to leaders and peers, where interns showcase their work, share ideas, and receive valuable feedback.
Who we are looking for
This is what you will do
We are seeking a motivated, graduate-level intern to join our Medical Affairs Digital Excellence team. This role offers hands-on experience in digital communications for pharmaceutical medical affairs, focusing on the creation of impactful presentations, digital assets, and analytics-driven insights. The intern will work closely with cross-functional teams to support digital excellence initiatives and enhance operational efficiency, with the exciting opportunity to work on pre-launch and approved product lines.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Team to Identify Content Gaps
- Identify content needs or opportunities to streamline content efficiencies across medical channels, including but not limited to web, email, media, and social
- Participate in tactical planning with digital agency
- Build Content Development Plan
- Map the plan alongside medical communications managers with timelines to create and deploy content
- Propose a channel mix for publication-related communications
- Propose a metadata and reporting structure
- Participate in campaign production in automation tools
- Asset Production
- Assist in designing and updating content pieces and templates for slide decks, publications, study design infographics, and other assets used in external communication
- Work cross-functionally to approve pieces ready for distribution
- Operationalize and Report
- Deploy assets across an omnichannel spectrum
- Gather preliminary data and feedback on utility and implementation through various reporting tools
- Present Findings and Future Recommendations
- Compile and present findings and recommendations to the medical communications team
- Utilize AI tools to streamline tasks within the key responsibilities listed above and provide any challenges or recommendations for long-term implementation.
You will need to have
- Currently pursuing a graduate degree with a focus on Digital Marketing, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field with an expected graduation date of Fall 2026 or later.
- Previous experience in marketing or communications, preferably in a digital-focused capacity.
- Basic knowledge or adaptability to learn digital editor tools for presentations, HTML or web content, images, or campaigns.
- Basic knowledge or adaptability to learn digital communication platforms.
- Experience using Excel or other analytical reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
We would prefer for you to have
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.
Location
This is a hybrid role based in Cary, NC. Interns are expected to work on-site up to 3 days per week.
