Internship Program Overview
Our 10-week summer internship program gives students hands-on experience and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while learning about our organization. Interns will connect with leaders, participate in development sessions like self-assessments and business overviews, and take part in networking and community initiatives. The program concludes with a final presentation to leaders and peers, where interns showcase their work, share ideas, and receive valuable feedback.
Who we are looking for
This is what you will do
We are seeking a motivated and analytical intern to join our Strategy & Business Knowledge team within the Global Rare Disease division. This internship offers hands-on experience in strategic planning, opportunity evaluation, and cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Strategy & Business Knowledge, this role will coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Opportunity Evaluation:
- Conduct secondary and primary research into disease areas to understand the therapeutic landscape, research pipeline, and unmet needs. Screen opportunities for commercial and strategic alignment with Global Rare Disease priorities.
- Strategic Analysis:
- Support the evaluation of long-term strategic initiatives and refinement of therapeutic area plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, legal, operations, value & access, business development, R&D, and others) to develop a holistic view of opportunity impact.
- Business Development Support:
- Assist in the assessment of potential partnerships, licensing, and M&A opportunities.
- Project & Process Management:
- Contribute to project management and process improvement initiatives as assigned.
- Reporting & Communication:
- Prepare reports and presentations for executive leadership. Synthesize qualitative and quantitative findings into actionable insights.
- Professional Development:
- Participate in mentorship sessions, professional development workshops, and networking events. Complete a capstone project and present findings to senior leadership at the end of the internship.
You will need to have
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Life Sciences, Business, Economics, or a related field with an expected graduation date of Fall 2026 or later.
- Demonstrated interest in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, especially rare diseases.
- Strong research and data analysis skills; ability to extract insights from scientific and business resources.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
We would prefer for you to have
- Familiarity with additional Microsoft tools (e.g., SharePoint, Outlook).
Location
This is a hybrid role based in Boston. Interns are expected to work on-site up to 3 days per week.
